Cut time estimator
Drop a DXF or SVG and get its total cut length, engraving length and pierce count, then an estimated laser cutting time from your speeds and pierce time.
How long will this file take? Drop it here to measure every cut and engraving line and count the pierces, then enter your machine's speeds to get a time you can quote from.
What goes into a cut time
- Cutting: total contour length ÷ cut speed, times passes.
- Piercing: one pierce per closed contour and per open line, times passes. Thick material or metal can need 0.5–2 s each.
- Engraving: open line length ÷ engrave speed.
- Travel: the head moving between contours at rapid speed, here as a share of the cut length (15–30 % is typical for a nested sheet).
Quoting from it
Multiply the time by your machine's hourly rate and add material from the sheet price estimator. For a whole order, the nester tells you how many sheets the parts need; this tool tells you how long each sheet will run.
